Thinking we’ll just figure it out then.
Yet here’s my pitch this week:
It is important that we still remain active in managing our staff.
No matter how surreal it gets, no matter how much turbulence surfaces, the basics of managing staff are unchanged and needed.
New sensitivities and uncertainties can seemingly stand in the way; however, they don’t negate the bedrock from which positive organizational management flows.
These sensitivities and uncertainties now challenge us to up our ability to communicate with clarity and grace.
Our staff still need a clear framework and the accountability provided by wise management.
They need our proactive chats and check-ins to see how we can aid them in their strengthening.
We as managers need to settle our emotions so we can focus and deal evenly with everyday staff accountability issues.
It really hit me how understandable it would be for any of us to want to pause, yet no matter how much upheaval goes on we still need to be there for the crew and manage.
If we stall, we are only making it harder and more confusing for our staff and ourselves in the short and long run.
