It’s Labor Day,
And amid all our yearly holidays of celebration, remembrance, and reverence, Labor Day seems rather ignored and meaningless except to mark the end of summer.
And with so many schools now starting in August even that distinction has blurred and faded.
So today I want to send out a request that for just a few moments we resurrect the true meaning of Labor Day in our hearts.
As for me, what makes my life meaningful and keeps my life together is my family, my friends and the fact that I have something to do every day that adds a little bit to this world where we live.
Good days, bad days, bumpy days, smooth days, whatever, the fact that I am able to work and contribute is a central pillar of my life.
And certainly, deserves a day to reflect upon and appreciate.
Whether brain muscle or arm muscle we are the laborers.
This is our day!
