We can stay steady and make sure we don&#8217;t commiserate or appease.<\/p>\n<p>But what if it doesn&#8217;t let up?<\/p>\n<p>Well, for me there comes a time when enough is enough.<\/p>\n<p>I just won&#8217;t listen to any more.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll say something like, &#8220;Hold up for a sec, are you interested in exploring ways you could feel better? I am here for you, but I really can&#8217;t listen to any more complaining about _______.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Or if that doesn&#8217;t do it, then I&#8217;ll say something like, &#8220;Hey, I can&#8217;t really listen to anymore, I hope you feel better soon.&#8221; And change the topic somehow.<\/p>\n<p>Often it&#8217;s the best thing we can do in that moment.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not doing them or us any good hanging out in that space.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a better place to be and let&#8217;s all meet up there.<br \/>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ever been in a situation where a peer co-worker frequently comes to you to hard-core complain about somebody else?
