{"id":1964,"date":"2021-09-23T18:35:51","date_gmt":"2021-09-23T18:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/merrimanmanagementsupport.com\/?post_type=project&#038;p=1964"},"modified":"2021-09-23T18:41:46","modified_gmt":"2021-09-23T18:41:46","slug":"check-your-checklists-sept-23rd","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"http:\/\/merrimanmanagementsupport.com\/index.php\/project\/check-your-checklists-sept-23rd\/","title":{"rendered":"Check Your Checklists &#8211; Sept 23rd"},"content":{"rendered":"\n[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.22&#8243;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;3.25&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.25&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_image src=&#8221;http:\/\/merrimanmanagementsupport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Drawing-abc.jpg&#8221; title_text=&#8221;Drawing abc&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; width=&#8221;34%&#8221;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.27.4&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221;]<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>One thing that I&#8217;ve noticed, and this might or might not apply to you, is that sometimes co-ops seem to be a little structure-phobic.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>That creating day to day systems and checklists is not the &#8220;co-op&#8221; way of doing things.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>Too corporate&#8230;too regimented&#8230;not in the creative flow of the day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>I&#8217;m sure we all have&nbsp;some&nbsp;structures in place but how much of our day to day operating methods are left to&nbsp;individual&nbsp;preferences, styles&nbsp;and moods?<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>And those structures that are in place, how much accountability do we have to make sure they are upheld?<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>Afterall, it is easy to veer away from them because, let&#8217;s face it, that kind of effort is a&nbsp;grind.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>It feels like they take&nbsp;the &#8220;human element&#8221;&nbsp;out of&nbsp;our work.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>However, our humanity can really only have the space to flourish if it sits&nbsp;upon a strong stable foundation.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>With strong basics in place, we&#8217;re ready when the&nbsp;creative flow of the day turns into the whirlwind flood of the day.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>All of us have been hired&nbsp;to create&nbsp;a strong, sound business to serve&nbsp;our community.&nbsp; We can&#8217;t do that shunning business&nbsp;basics.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>Our&nbsp;values and&nbsp;altruisms&nbsp;will&nbsp;naturally&nbsp;lead us away from the pack; however,&nbsp;our altruism can also mislead us into thinking &#8220;those business&nbsp;practices&#8221; don&#8217;t apply to us.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>Our business difference lives in our intent to serve our&nbsp;community by providing a really&nbsp;cool, fun, amazing, transformative place,&nbsp;not in our hubris that serves our self-image.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>I encourage us all to get those checklists, routines, and structures&nbsp;together and functioning in each department.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>Reinforce&nbsp;the value that they&nbsp;provide in helping us operate a&nbsp;strong and vibrant co-op.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>And keep them up and running.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One thing that I&#8217;ve noticed, and this might or might not apply to you, is that sometimes co-ops seem to be a little structure-phobic.
