Now as a manager, we have a crew.<\/p>\n
This crew is comprised of a number of individuals each with their own set of values.<\/p>\n
Each individual is a self-contained world of their own personal values along with their individual desires and motivations that comes from these values.<\/p>\n
This can be a lot to manage.<\/p>\n
In fact, it almost seems unmanageable without some help…<\/p>\n
\u2026 something that can coordinate, facilitate and harness all the varied worlds of personal values within our team.<\/p>\n
What helps is to create a common gathering point of reference that all can see and adjust their energy toward.<\/p>\n
A team agreement.<\/p>\n
A commonly held set of “values” that is agreed upon and respected while working together.<\/p>\n
Everyone has their personal values and our team agreement is our group’s values.<\/p>\n
How we work together and to what end.<\/p>\n
It’s what makes our group a cohesive entity and focuses our united efforts.<\/p>\n
I hate to use the word sacred, but team agreements are pretty important and have to be held in the utmost respect.<\/p>\n
Everyone just working off their individual values can get pretty confusing and chaotic.<\/p>\n
By living out team agreements, any well-meaning tribe can become a very effective force.<\/p>\n
